What is High Blood Pressure?

High blood pressure (also known as HBP, or hypertension) is a term used when your blood pressure, the force of blood flowing through your blood vessels is too high at a constant rate. High blood pressure refers to the pressure of blood against your artery walls which is harmful when overlooked. It has no warning signs whatsoever.

When your blood pressure stays high over time, it causes the heart to pump harder and work overtime, possibly leading to serious health problems such as heart diseases or something deadly like a heart attack.

Symptoms of Severe High Blood Pressure

If your blood pressure is extremely high, there may be certain symptoms to look out for, including:

  • Severe headaches
  • Nosebleed
  • Fatigue or confusion
  • Vision problems
  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Blood spots in eyes
  • Pounding in your chest, neck, or ears

Immediately contact your doctor if you have any one of these symptoms.

High Blood Pressure Range

High blood pressure is defined as a systolic pressure between 120 and 129 with a diastolic pressure of less than 80. If you have 130 or higher for the first number or 80 or higher for a second, this reading tells that you have High blood pressure.

Ayurvedic Remedies for High Blood Remedies

We know that ayurvedic treatment is the best for high blood pressure as many experts have agreed to its potent importance in managing this disease.

Amla: One of the effective ayurvedic medicine for blood pressure is amla (also known as Indian Gooseberry). It contains Vitamin C which helps in reducing blood cholesterol levels and widens blood vessels.  Drink amla juice on an empty stomach every morning, you can miss a day or two but if you drank it consistently, it will greatly help in controlling hypertension and other ailments.

Ashwagandha: This is yet another best natural herb (also known as Indian Ginseng). Simply add to your evening tea in minimal quantity and studies show that it helps in lowering blood pressure and also in reducing blood sugar levels in people with diabetes.

Honey: Honey is tasty and powerful in its benefits. For people with high blood pressure, drinking two teaspoons of honey with lukewarm water every morning or adding a teaspoon of honey and five drops of apple cider vinegar to a cup of hot water can work wonders for your wellbeing. It aids in relaxing the walls of blood vessels and controlling blood pressure levels. This remedy also helps in reducing cholesterol and helps to regulate blood pressure.

Coriander and Cardamom: Add a teaspoon of coriander and a pinch of cardamom to one cup of freshly squeezed juice whether it is apple or peach. Drink it two times throughout the day to help with maintaining blood levels.

Moong dal: Consume Moong dal and add some cumin or cilantro. If you like turmeric, then add it as well. It’s not only tasty but greatly helps in bringing down high blood pressure.

Watermelon: One of the best ayurvedic remedies is to sprinkle some cardamom and a pinch of coriander on watermelon and savor it. Eating this is said to act as a mild diuretic and will surely help in regulating blood pressure.

Tamarind pulp juice: One of the fantastic remedies to lower blood pressure.

 

What Ayurveda suggests to Avoid:

Substances and foods like salt, fried foods, fatty foods, or hot and spicy food are all known to aggravate the condition; therefore, Ayurveda suggests that people avoid them at all costs. Mostly focus on breathing, walking, swimming, and sleeping to lower the blood pressure. Reduce salt intake by half. Speak to a doctor about having ‘No Salt’ a product available for people who can’t do salts. Also, ensure if someone is dizzy to do neck and head exercises or asanas

Take Magnesium-rich foods and increase fiber.

Also, must buy a pressure machine and keep a log. Talk to a doctor if any medication is required.
