Welcome to Conscious Health! Thank you for being here! I hope you discover something here that makes a difference in your life!
When you come to Nahid’s cooking classes, she will not only share with you her best recipes, but also her knowledge of food and nutrition. Nahid is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, who absolutely adores spices and herbs in her cooking and self-care. She is an expert in Holistic Cooking, specifically Ayurvedic Cooking, because it bears all the memories from her mother’s kitchen.
While growing up in Bangladesh, Nahid gained gems of knowledge from her family about the nutrition in various foods, spices and herbs. With the mystical fragrance and the healing qualities of these spices and herbs, Nahid will entice you back to your kitchen and help you create the most flavourful dishes.
A graduate from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, Nahid infuses her knowledge of traditional cooking with modern nutrition. Understanding today’s demanding lifestyle she will show you how to extract the maximum flavour and nutrition from the food you eat. She will teach you how to prepare balanced meals according to your body type that promote both health and longevity.
Nahid has traveled to major cities in Asia, India, Thailand, Nepal, Singapore and Malaysia exploring their amazing herbs, spices and culture. She is a “Foodie” who is now an expert in Nutrition. Nahid firmly believes “You are what you eat” and “Healthy eating is delicious.”
My Story
I was born with a condition called retinal dystrophy or retinal pignemtosa. I never had any night vision and when I was in my teens I started losing my peripheral vision and had great difficulty seeing in the distance. In 2008 I was declared “legally blind” in Canada which is a status given to those who have lost their sight significantly—in my case I am left with tunnel vision.
Between 2008-2012 I worked full time and went to school. Today I still do not depend on doctors for any treatment because there is no cure for Retinal Dystrophy. They have only urged me to learn how to use a cane and learn braille (reading system for the blind), telling me that I will go blind eventually. However, I take responsibility for my own health. I take foods that contains lots of Vitamin A, Zinc and Vitamin B. Detoxification and Ayurvedic self-care has helped me continue in life. It has been that simple!
I studied Holistic Nutrition and Ayurveda and have seen significant changes in my night vision and my distance vision. Persistence, passion, knowledge and love assisted me all my life in healing. I want everyone to know that they can do the same!
