AYURVEDIC COOKING CLASSES IN TORONTO

This is an Ayurvedic and Nutrition Course. Nahid will teach you about the importance
of Tri Dosha or 3 body types and Rasa or 6 tastes in Ayurveda. In addition, benefits of applying Ayurvedic
principles in cooking will be explored. You will learn how to source and prepare meals using the absolute
best ingredients and learn unique cooking techniques. The recipes are designed to help you create a
balanced vegetarian diet.

The class will cover:
The concept of dosha and 6 tastes
How to use food to balance the 3 different doshas
Ayurvedic pantry basics and kitchen ware required
Introduction to Ayurvedic way of using spices
Understanding how to make the right choices from each food groups – grains, legumes, oils, fats
etc.
How to cook to improve digestion

Recipe hand out will be provided.

Be ready for hands on cooking

    This was a wonderful class. Nahid brings a wonderful energy to her class and is full of knowledge. Over the three hours we learned about Ayurvedic principles, how to make small changes to improve our health, and of course cook! The food was so delicious!!

    I learnt so much about using different spices for my dosha. I learnt about the proper techniques in cooking with ayurvedic spices to enhance the nutritional and healing properties. For example, I learnt to pan fry the spices to release the oils for better nutritional absorption. We cooked tridoshic meals during the class which included kichadi and my favourite raisin chutney! It was a very good cooking experience that really gave me the essential skills to start cooking ayurvedic, healing meals.

    I always enjoy Nahid’s classes because she has such a lively energy. On top of that she always comes with a wealth of information and I always walk away feeling so much more knowledgable.
    I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to become a better cook, who wants to learn how to use different ayurvedic spices for different healing purposes, and cooking tridoshic meals that are beneficial for anyone in the family.

    I really enjoyed Nahid’s class, it was the best kind of learning because it was fun and also tasty! She really knows her stuff and I was sad to leave, I would have liked to find out more. I an sure I will attend some more classes in the future.

    This was an excellent class. We learned the different properties of spices and which were suitable for each dosha. We prepared many recipes using Ayurvedic principles. The food was nurturing and delicious, and easy to replicate at home. Nahid is very knowledgeable and attentive. I highly recommend this class.
